Exploring the States
Learn to name the states using satellite images and this easy-to-use software program. Exploring the States is a popular and fun way to memorize and test your knowledge on state names and capitals. The satellite images are also used to instruct students on area of estimation. The estimation exercises consist of calculating area and population numbers. A final section is used to teach childre to answer questions using compass positions.
Exploring the Earth
This program uses space images, vocabulary words and geography trivia to teach students about our Earth. The software provides insight into 4 vocabulary subjects; land, water, atmosphere and space. In addition, students can learn about the continents, oceans, chart Antarctic sea ice growth, track a hurricane and see the Sahara's desert growth over a decade.

This program is an interactive software program that teaches students country names, capitals, area and population using space images and math for students in the third through eighth grades. GeoClock
GeoClock shows the current time (based on your computer's clock) with a high quality map of the earth. The current sun position is displayed, and the parts of the earth in sunlight and twilight are highlighted. This display is automatically updated every few seconds. Local sunrise, sunset, the sun's azimuth and elevation, and times around the world are also displayed. A variety of map backgrounds and other options are available.
Global Challenge Geography
Global Challenge is a first-rate educational tool intended to help teach geography and geographical facts through a series of quizzes. It offers a challenging learning environment where you decide how easy or difficult to make the game. As you progress through each quiz, the program remembers your responses and tailors future games to suit your skill level. Over a trillion possible question combinations are offered, covering about 250 countries, in more than a dozen informational categories. No matter how often you play, it's doubtful you'll ever see the same exact question twice. Particular countries can also be included by changing the difficulty level. The shareware version limits the quizzes to five categories: Population , Religions, Languages, Capitals, and Flags. Registration removes this limitation. Global Challenge will definitely make learning geography enjoyable.
