Holistic Health

Conventional modern medicine considers the human being to be rather like a machine or a chemical. An individual is healthy for as long as the machine functions perfectly. If a defect develops and the individual becomes ill. The only thing to do is repair the defect. The drugs commonly used for that purpose are developed from this technological image of the human being, and they do act according to mechanistic concepts and models of the human organism, just as they do in laboratory tests.
From the anthroposophic point of view, however, a human being is more than just a machine. The
anthroposophic study of the human being and the world of nature is based upon the reality that the human being is composed of body, soul and spirit.
